{"id":101498,"date":"2016-09-22T15:03:47","date_gmt":"2016-09-22T15:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2016\/09\/22\/245202\/"},"modified":"2024-12-30T09:26:40","modified_gmt":"2024-12-30T09:26:40","slug":"armenias-new-finance-minister-to-focus-on-drawing-up-realistic-budget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2016\/09\/22\/101498\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenia\u2019s new finance minister to focus on drawing up realistic budget"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, September 22. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Armenia\u2019s newly appointed minister of finance Vardan Aramyan told journalists today that in the next 10 days he will be focusing on the drawing up of\u00a0 the next year\u2019s\u00a0 budget, which will be drawn up in a manner so that\u00a0 taxpayers&#8217; money are used sparingly and purposefully.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the budget is usually drawn up on the basis of economic situation, and should be realistic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For example, if the economy has serious problems, a budget with unrealistic tax flows will be tantamount to a bomb. It is very dangerous; we\u2019d better provide to the public the whole situation, to explain why the government\u2019s spending is conservative. My job will be to present the realties to the public.\u2019 Aramyan said.<\/p>\n<p>With regard to macroeconomic situation, the minister said there are different estimates and forecasts \u2013 from 2.2% to 3.5% GDP growth , but there are circumstances that need to be considered, for example,\u00a0\u00a0 the 2013, which was a shock not only to r Armenia, but also to other countries in the region.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a result, financial flows changed their direction from east to west.\u00a0 This led to foreign exchange pressures with different countries responding in their own ways.
