{"id":103200,"date":"2016-11-11T15:01:32","date_gmt":"2016-11-11T15:01:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2016\/11\/11\/245427\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:26:08","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:26:08","slug":"armenian-banks-investments-in-securities-grow-by-41-percent-to-374-6-billion-drams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2016\/11\/11\/103200\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenian banks\u2019 investments in securities grow by 41 percent to 374.6 billion drams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, November 11. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Armenia-based commercial banks\u2019 investments in securities in\u00a0 the first 9 months of 2016 grew by 41% from the beginning of the year to 374.6 billion drams, according to ARKA news agency\u2019s financial and economic bulletin &#8220;Banks of Armenia&#8221; (Armenian Banks\u2019 Performance for the Third Quarter 2016).<\/p>\n<p>The banks&#8217; investments in securities constituted 10.34% of their combined assets and about 95.3% of the\u00a0 investments \u2013 357.2 billion drams- were\u00a0 investments in government bonds.<\/p>\n<p>The top five banks by size of investments in securities were ArmSwissbank, Ameriabank, Ardshinbank, VTB Bank (Armenia) and Araratbank, which accounted for 156.5 billion drams worth investments or 41.7% of all investments in securities.<\/p>\n<p>ArmSwissbank\u2019s investments in securities at the end of September made 41.1% of its total assets, or 40.1 billion drams, a 31.8% surge from the beginning of the year. It should be noted that ArmSwissbank\u00a0 provides also\u00a0 investment services often acting as underwriter or market maker.<\/p>\n<p>Ameriabank\u2019s investments amounted to 31.2 billion drams (a 4.6% growth), those of Ardshinbank soared by 39.7% to 30.6 billion drams.
