Commercial banks\u2019 consumer loans to residents grew 1.9% to AMD 427.4 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Trade came second in the bank\u2019s aggregate loan portfolio \u2013 its share here grew 3.8% to AMD 390.8 billion. Mortgage lending grew 0.3% in October, compared with September, to 8.7%.<\/p>\n<p>Mortgage loans to Armenia\u2019s resident economy totaled AMD 181.7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Loans extended to residents in drams grew 1.1% to about AMD 759.8 billion, while loans provided in foreign currencies shrank 0.8% to AMD 1 336.9 billion.<\/p>\n<p>According to the central bank, there are 18 commercial banks in Armenia now.
