{"id":113162,"date":"2018-03-21T13:19:43","date_gmt":"2018-03-21T13:19:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2018\/03\/21\/247289\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:32:59","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:32:59","slug":"armenian-minister-and-imf-armenia-mission-head-discussed-new-and-unique-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2018\/03\/21\/113162\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenian minister and IMF Armenia mission head discussed \u2018new and unique\u2019 program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, March 21. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Armenia Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan met on Wednesday with an International Monetary Fund (IMF) team, led by the head of the IMF Armenia Mission Hossein Samiei to discuss the IMF\u2019s new program for Armenia, which the ministry described in a press release as \u2018unique in its content\u2019 in view of Armenia\u2019s progressive economic development.<\/p>\n<p>The parties stressed that the program can serve as a positive impetus for new investment.<br \/>\nKarayan was said to have singled out the unprecedented high economic growth registered in 2017, stressing also the need for ongoing investment.<\/p>\n<p>According to the minister, the IMF is a constant partner in these processes. The importance of the ongoing reforms was emphasized in the context of ensuring higher economic growth rates.<\/p>\n<p>IMF\u2019s previous &#8220;Expanded Financing Facility&#8221; (EFF) program with a total value of 82.21 million SDR or $111.57 million was approved on March 7, 2014. During the three years the IMF provided Armenia with $100-110 million. The last tranche was transferred in June 2017.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, Armenia registered an economic growth of 7.5%, up form the projected 3.2%.
