{"id":120292,"date":"2019-03-28T14:37:05","date_gmt":"2019-03-28T14:37:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2019\/03\/28\/248394\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:37:11","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:37:11","slug":"imf-expects-economic-growth-in-armenia-to-moderate-to-about-4%c2%bd-percent-in-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2019\/03\/28\/120292\/","title":{"rendered":"IMF expects economic growth in Armenia to moderate to about 4\u00bd percent in 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>YEREVAN, March 28. \/ARKA\/. <\/strong>In an exclusive interview with ARKA news agency the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Armenia Yulia Ustyugova said economic growth is expected to moderate to about 4\u00bd percent in 2019, reflecting a weaker global environment and copper prices, and remain in the 4-5 percent range over the medium term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also said CPI inflation is projected to gradually converge to the CBA\u2019s target of 4 percent over the next two years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018We expect the current account deficit to improve to about 6-7 percent of GDP in 2019 and to around 5 percent of GDP in the medium term. The fiscal deficit is projected at around 2\u00bd percent of GDP in 2019 and 2 percent of GDP in the medium term,\u2019 she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018In our view, the risks to the outlook are mainly external.
