{"id":127215,"date":"2020-02-27T14:24:17","date_gmt":"2020-02-27T14:24:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2020\/02\/27\/249172\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:40:28","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:40:28","slug":"armenias-external-forex-reserves-amount-to-unprecedented-2-85-billion-nikol-pashinyan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2020\/02\/27\/127215\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenia&#8217;s external forex reserves amount to &#8216;unprecedented&#8217; $2.85 billion &#8211; Nikol Pashinyan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>YEREVAN, February 27. \/AR\u041a\u0410\/. <\/strong>Armenia\u2019s external forex reserves have amounted to the  &#8216;unprecedented&#8217; $2.85 billion, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said in 2019, the country&#8217;s forex reserves surged by 26.1% or approximately by $590 million.<br>\n&#8220;In fact, in late 2019 the forex reserves reached the unprecedented level of $2.85 billion, the highest ever level,&#8221; Pashinyan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pashinyan added also that the total assets of the banks  increased by 16.9% or 842 billion drams in 2019, the lending rose by 16.4% or 482 billion drams and the amount of deposits grew by 19.3% or 527 billion drams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of January 2020, the Central Bank bought $5 million in the first forex transaction this year.
