{"id":136040,"date":"2021-10-20T18:59:48","date_gmt":"2021-10-20T18:59:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2021\/10\/20\/250055\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:45:50","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:45:50","slug":"acba-bank-and-nabu-succeed-in-developing-organic-agriculture-in-armenia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2021\/10\/20\/136040\/","title":{"rendered":"Acba bank and NABU succeed in developing organic agriculture in Armenia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>YEREVAN, October 20, \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> The participants of the three-day international conference on organic agriculture, nature protection and poverty reduction, initiated by the Germany&#8217;s Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), have revealed Armenia\u2019s eco-potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference\u2019s focus was on such issues as conservation of Armenia&#8217;s biodiversity, sectoral issues of international significance, the role of agricultural cooperatives, as well as the importance of the development of organic agriculture and its prospects in Armenia.&nbsp;&nbsp;In this context, the Germany\u2019s Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union and Acba bank have been taking joint steps for 6 years already to solve these problems and develop the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It is important for NABU to have strong partners. Acba bank is one of them. Experience shows that the program we are implementing together has been a great success, as the number of organic certification in Armenia has increased by about 50% since the launch of our program,\u201d said Narek Grigoryan, NABU Director in Armenia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Cooperation with Acba bank is very important. Together we can show farmers the strengths of organic farming, make it visible that sustainable business can be done in this area,&#8221; said Leif Miller, NABU Executive Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Organic agriculture is a narrow segment, but it is a very important direction. We see the development potential of the sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;Over the past 6 years we have been able to register tangible results. If we summarize what we have achieved in 6 years, I will say the results are satisfactory. We know that we can all succeed in this field together.
