{"id":13703,"date":"2010-07-30T12:18:39","date_gmt":"2010-07-30T12:18:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2010\/07\/30\/231332\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T12:47:51","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T12:47:51","slug":"hsbc-opens-up-the-doors-for-talent-development-in-armenia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2010\/07\/30\/13703\/","title":{"rendered":"HSBC opens up the doors for talent development in Armenia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, July 30, \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> For the fourth consecutive year HSBC Bank Armenia provided local and\u00a0 international career development opportunities to Higher Education Institutions (HEI) students and young\u00a0 talents by conducting summer internships and Management Trainee (MT)\u00a0 programmes.<\/p>\n<p>To date, 42 students and 9 graduates benefited from these\u00a0 programmes, which enable gaining hands-on experience in core banking\u00a0 business locally as well as internationally, make an early career\u00a0\u00a0 decision,\u00a0 and earn the opportunity to secure a job when they graduate, the Bank said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>After\u00a0 successful completion of the internship the bank has employed 15 of its\u00a0 interns and trusted 9 managerial positions to management trainees who\u00a0 completed MT programmes in HSBC Group member banks in bigger markets like\u00a0 UK, China, UAE and other European countries.<\/p>\n<p>Initiatives of the bank also encompass developing relationships with the\u00a0 local universities. The Bank\u2019s Human Resources Department is engaged in\u00a0 regular consultations with HEI career centres which aim to foster talent\u00a0 development and management for the local market. Recently the Head of HR Department represented HSBC insights on young workforce employability and\u00a0 market development opportunities at the republican seminar held at Yerevan\u00a0 State University with the participation of many HEI career centre\u00a0 representatives, education, government and industry experts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur people are fundamental to our business success; we continually invest\u00a0 in them providing professional development solutions locally and\u00a0 internationally. Since 2009 we spent AMD 50 mln on training and\u00a0\u00a0 development\u00a0 projects engaging 80% of employees, besides six of my colleagues currently\u00a0 work in leading positions at HSBC Group member banks abroad who will come\u00a0 back and bring the internationally gained experience to Armenia. At HSBC\u00a0\u00a0 we\u00a0 are not supporters of only experience diversification but also of human\u00a0 resources: currently we have employees from around 8 different regions of\u00a0 RA and 3 other countries\u201d, said Head of Human Resources, Elvina\u00a0\u00a0 Aghajanyan.<\/p>\n<p>HSBC Group has a diverse workforce of over 335,000 people in 8,000 offices\u00a0 in 88 countries and territories worldwide. In Armenia HSBC employs 360\u00a0 specialists coming from various backgrounds, with or without previous work\u00a0 experience.
