YEREVAN, August 13. \/ARKA\/. Armenian Ameriabank\u2019s leasing portfolio reached AMD 1861 million ($5 million) by August 12, 2010, the bank\u2019s press office reports.

\nThis amount is 4.9 times greater than the indicator of the beginning of the year.\u00a0 Ameriabank\u2019s share in Armenian banks\u2019 aggregate leasing portfolio is 25 percent.<\/p>\n
The bank\u2019s leasing services has grown 187% since the beginning of this year from AMD 383 million.
\nThey have grown 44% (by AMD 553 million) over the first quarter and 99% (by AMD 1099 million) over the second quarter.<\/p>\n
Remarkable is that the bank had only 7% in the Armenian banking system\u2019s leasing portfolio by late 2009, but it built up its share by 10% in the 1st Q 2010 and by 18.4% in the 2nd Q.
\n\u201cAmeriabank intends to continue advancing its leasing services at the Armenian market,\u201d the press release says.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Ameriabank CJSC (former Armimpexbank) was founded in July 1992 using the facilities of the Armenian branch of the USSR Vnesheconombank (Foreign Economy Bank). On September 8, 1992, the bank received a banking license from the Central Bank of Armenia.\u00a0
\nIn August 2007, TDA Holdings limited, affiliated with Troika Dialogue, Russia\u2019s leading investment company, purchased the bank\u2019s shares.<\/p>\n
On November 3, 2008, Armenian Stock Exchange gave Ameriabank the status of the market maker of the IMEX Group\u2019s bonds.<\/p>\n
According to ARKA News Agency\u2019s data, Ameriabank\u2019s assets totaled AMD 121.4 billion, liabilities AMD 91 billion and liabilities to clients AMD 62.2 billion by late June 2010.<\/p>\n
The bank\u2019s total capital amounted to AMD 30.3 billion, authorized capital AMD 25.5 billion (the leader among Armenian banks) and credit portfolio AMD 74.4 billion.\u00a0 Its net profit for the first half of this year amounts to AMD 1258.2 million.\u00a0 The bank has six branches in Armenia.
