YEREVAN, April 11. \/ARKA\/. <\/strong>The credit portfolio of Armenia-based commercial banks in late February 2023 stood at 4.2 bln drams, up from 4.17 bln drams in January 2023, according to the National Statistical Committee (NSC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It said the amount of lending totaled about 4.03 billion drams (96.0% of the total credit portfolio), up from about 4 billion drams in January, while the volume of deferred loans stood at 155.4 million drams (3.69%), down from about 161.3 million drams in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, overdue loans  were worth about 12.8 million drams (0.31%) against 10.2 million drams in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The volume of loans issued in foreign currency amounted to the equivalent of about 1 bln. 418 million drams (33.72%), up from  1 bln. 412 million drams in January, while the volume of loans in drams amounted to  about 2.62 billion drams (62.29%) against about 2.59 billion drams in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The volume of loans (including factoring, leasing operations and repo agreements) issued by banks to non-residents by the end of February totaled 213.3mln drams, down from  226.3mln drams in January, while the volume of loans to residents stood at 4.06bln drams against 4.02 bln drams in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The volume of dram loans to residents amounted to some 2.62 bln drams against 2.59 bln drams in January, and the volume of foreign currency loans amounted to the equivalent of 1.44 bln drams against 1.43 bln drams in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The volume of loans issued by credit organizations at the end of February totaled 268 million drams against 267 million drams in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The amount of loans to non-residents totaled 11.8 mln drams against 11.4 mln drams in January, while the amount of loans to residents totaled 256.3 mln drams against 255.3 mln drams in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dram loans to residents amounted to 189 million drams against 186.3 million drams in January, and foreign currency loans amounted to the equivalent of 67.2 million drams against 69.1 million drams in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February, the interest rate on loans provided by commercial banks was 11.82% (11.76% in January). The rate on repo deals of the Central Bank was 10.75%. -0-<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
