YEREVAN, May 8. \/ARKA\/. <\/strong>Regardless of the U.S. dollar\/dram exchange rate, stability of prices will be ensured in Armenia, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Armen Nurbekyan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is important to understand that the dollar exchange rate depends on different factors. If you tell me what will happen in the world, I can say approximately what will happen to the dollar exchange rate. If, for example, the inflow (of finances) to Armenia continues at the same pace, we will notice pressure towards the appreciation of the dram. Otherwise we will see pressure in the opposite direction,” Nurbekyan told the Pubic Television of Armenia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that for this reason the Central Bank is not engaged in rate forecasting. “Our promise is the following – regardless of what happens with the dollar exchange rate, there will be price stability in Armenia. It became obvious to everyone over the last three years , because in 2020-2021 we saw a depreciation of AMD, after a rise in price, but inflation was 3.2%,” said the deputy chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
