{"id":149605,"date":"2023-07-07T10:53:32","date_gmt":"2023-07-07T10:53:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2023\/07\/07\/250984\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:51:44","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:51:44","slug":"armenias-total-state-debt-grows-to-over-11-billion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2023\/07\/07\/149605\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenia&#8217;s total state debt grows to over $11 billion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>YEREVAN, June 7. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Armenia&#8217;s overall state debt as of May 31, 2023 stood at a little over $11\u00a0billion,\u00a0having increased by\u00a0over\u00a0$53\u00a0mln from the previous month, according to the National Statistical Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On December 31, 2022, the country&#8217;s state debt stood at over $10.6 billion.&nbsp;As of May 31, 2023, the state debt in Armenian drams stood at over 4.2 trillion, having increased by more than 19.2 billion from the previous month of April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of December 31, 2022, the state debt was worth 4.186 trillion drams.&nbsp;According to the National Statistics Committee, the country&#8217;s foreign debt stood at over $6.4 billion (a decrease of $24.2 million from April 2023), while the domestic debt rose by $77.449 million from April to over $4.6 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In AMD equivalent, the external debt decreased by 10.1 billion to about 2.5 trillion, and the domestic&nbsp;&nbsp;debt increased by 29.3 billion to about 1.8 trillion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government&#8217;s external debt decreased by $12.5 million to over $5.8 billion as of May 2023. The government&#8217;s debt in AMD equivalent decreased by over 5.5 billion to over 2.2 trillion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central Bank&#8217;s debt decreased by $11.7 million to $554.7 million.
