YEREVAN, October 5, \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Armenia posted a 7.7% inflation rise in the first eight months of this year, one of the highest among other former Soviet republics making the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the CIS Statistical Committee said.<\/p>\n

The average inflation rate in the reporting period of time in CIS was 7%. The inflation in Armenia rose by 1.3% in August from July. The highest inflation rate of 9.2% was reported by Ukraine. It was followed by Armenia -7.75, Moldova- 7.1%, Kazakhstan- 7%, Belarus -6.7% and Russia-6.4%. Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan posted 5.4%, 5% and 4.1% inflation rise respectively.
