YEREVAN, October 7, \/ARKA\/. Some $942.7 million were remitted to individuals in Armenia via banks in the first eight months of the year, the Central Bank said in its monthly bulletin posted on its official website.<\/p>\n
According to official data, the amount was down 5.3% or 52.7 million from a year before. A total of $441.8 million were transferred from Armenia to abroad, down from $444 million a year before. The decline was 0.5%. The net inflow of money transfers in January-August this year amounted to $500.9 million, down from $551.4 million as compared to January-August of 2009.
