{"id":19979,"date":"2011-02-21T12:19:38","date_gmt":"2011-02-21T12:19:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2011\/02\/21\/232360\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T12:50:04","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T12:50:04","slug":"forex-deals-worth-61-04-million-effected-at-nasdaq-omx-armenia-stock-exchange-in-january","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2011\/02\/21\/19979\/","title":{"rendered":"Forex deals worth $61.04 million effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange in January"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, February 21. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Forex deals at NASDAQ OMX Armenia Stock Exchange totalled $61.04 million or AMD 22.3 billion in January.<\/p>\n<p>ARKA News Agency\u2019s analysis based on reports from the stock exchange shows that the amount grew 1.29% or by $780,000 (AMD 498.4 million), compared with December 2010, while the number of deals contracted by 44 to 455.<\/p>\n<p>On January 26, forex transactions amounted to $11.7 million \u2013 this month\u2019s maximum, and on January 27 they totaled $700,000 \u2013 minimum.<\/p>\n<p>Not a single deal on the euro was effected at<\/p>\n<p>NASDAQ OMX Armenia Stock Exchange in January.<\/p>\n<p>NASDAQ<\/p>\n<p>OMX Armenia (former Armenian Stock Exchange, Armex), was established in 2001 as a voluntary merger of 21 broker (dealer) companies.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2007, Armex was reorganized into an open joint stock company.<\/p>\n<p>On January 7, 2008, OMX (renamed<\/p>\n<p>NASDAQ OMX) acquired 100% of shares of NASDAQ OMX Armenia.<\/p>\n<p>On June 5, 2009, the stock exchange became the only shareholder at the Central Depository of Armenia.<\/p>\n<p>The stock exchange got its licence for holding forex auctions.<\/p>\n<p>In December, one dollar traded at 365.12 drams on average at NASDAQ OMX Armenia Stock Exchange.
