YEREVAN, May 31. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> The inflation in 2011 May grew by 9% year-on-year, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reported today, saying the growth was due to a 14.7% rise in food prices and a 2.5% rise in service prices. The prices of non foods in the period of time under review were said to have risen by 2.4%<\/p>\n

Consume price index (CPI) in January-May 2011 rose by 10.2% from a year earlier, including a 15% rise in food prices, a 5.4% in service prices and a 3.1% rise in non-foods prices. Consume prices rose on average by 0.98% a month in January-May 2011, by 0.06 p.p. higher than in the same time span of last year.<\/p>\n

In May consume price index did not change if compared to 2011 April. Food prices did not change either while prices of non-foods rose by 0.5% and those of services dropped by 0.1%. The government inflation projection for 2011 is 4% (\u00b11.5%). -0-<\/p>\n
