YEREVAN, June 2. \/ARKA\/. <\/strong>INGO-Armenia insurance company paid AMD 51 million over the period between May 15 and 31 as compensations under 211 compulsory car insurance policies, the company\u2019s press office reported on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The company placed on record 257 car accidents at the mentioned period. Of them, 189 occurred in Yerevan and 68 in provinces.<\/p>\n

Compulsory car insurance was instituted in Armenia on January 1, 2011. There are 420,000 cars in the country.<\/p>\n

INGO ARMENIA was established in 1997 as EFES CJSC, and was renamed after Russian Ingosstrakh acquired 75% of the company\u2019s shares in December 2003.<\/p>\n

The remaining 25% belong to Levon Altunyan (Armenia).<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s authorized capital amounts to AMD 750.9 million.<\/p>\n

INGO ARMENIA\u2019s assets totaled AMD 4.2 billion and liabilities AMD 2.5 million in late December 2010.<\/p>\n
