{"id":249347,"date":"2020-05-14T14:08:21","date_gmt":"2020-05-14T14:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2020\/05\/14\/249347\/"},"modified":"2020-05-14T14:08:21","modified_gmt":"2020-05-14T14:08:21","slug":"over-470000-individuals-and-15500-legal-entities-in-armenia-awarded-credit-holidays-because-of-coronavirus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2020\/05\/14\/249347\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 470,000 individuals and 15,500 legal entities in Armenia awarded credit holidays because of coronavirus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>YEREVAN, May 14. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Over 470,000 individuals and 15,500 legal entities in Armenia have been awarded credit holidays because of the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Thursday during a government meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He recalled that the\ngovernment had been pressed by the parliamentary opposition to provide benefits\nand concessions to creditors, but the authorities refused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStatistics show\nthat banks work very well with their beneficiaries. In fact, it\u2019s very correct\nthat we did not take any administrative decisions in this direction. Banks\nindependently, taking into account the appeal of the government, parliament and\nthe Central Bank, made correct decisions, which is very positive,\u201d said\nPashinyan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of May 5, some 768,015\nindividuals and 16,875 corporate loans were restructured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 30-day state of\nemergency to curb the spread of coronavirus was declared in Armenia on March 16\nand restrictions were imposed on free movement of citizens. The government\nbanned also some types of economic activity. On April 13, the government\nextended the state of emergency for another month and on May 4 it lifted the\nban on almost all types of economic activity and the free movement of citizens,\nexcept for public transport. On May 14, the government has again extended the\nstate of emergency for another 30 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the latest official data, Armenia&#8217;s confirmed cases of coronavirus have risen to 3,860; 49 people have died from it and 1,572 patients have recovered.
