{"id":249411,"date":"2020-06-25T18:04:22","date_gmt":"2020-06-25T18:04:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2020\/06\/25\/249411\/"},"modified":"2020-06-25T18:04:22","modified_gmt":"2020-06-25T18:04:22","slug":"central-bank-chairman-predicts-bigger-than-expected-gdp-drop-in-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2020\/06\/25\/249411\/","title":{"rendered":"Central bank chairman predicts bigger than expected GDP drop in 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>YEREVAN, June 25. \/ARKA\/. <\/strong>Armenia&#8217;s  GDP will decline more by the end of 2020  than most of the forecasts predict, the chairman of the Central Bank Martin Galstyan stated at a parliamentary meeting on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The head of the Central Bank said that in March 2020 the economic growth was projected at 0.7%, which was  lower than the previous forecast of 5.3%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He listed the areas that would be most affected by the pandemic &#8211; they are services and catering, transportation, travel agencies, and construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe pandemic will practically not affect agriculture,\u201d the head of the Central Bank said, emphasizing that there will also be a decline in private consumption and investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On April 29, the parliament of Armenia approved a revision of budget indicators to offset the consequences of the COVID-19.
