YEREVAN, June 29. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong>The 26th of \u00a0June, 2020 marked\u00a0 a remote launch of the program on \u201cIT and Entrepreneurship Skill Improvement among Unemployed Population to Promote the Economic Development of Armenian Regions\u201d implemented by Jinishian Memorial Foundation and funded by HSBC Group. The overall budget of the program is USD149,000, of which USD105,500 is provided by HSBC Group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program\naims at creating unique job opportunities for the residents of Armenian regions\nby promoting the development of information technology (IT) industry and\nentrepreneurship in Shirak, Lori, Gegharkunik, and Kotayk regions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program\nconsists of two components. As part of the first component, 60 young people\nfrom the target regions will enjoy the opportunity to participate in a\nsix-month IT training program led by senior specialists of Instigate Training\nCenter and other IT companies operating in the regions, followed by a\ntwo-month-long professional internship in the regional branches of these\ncompanies.  The second component includes\npractical trainings on the development of entrepreneurial skills and business\nplanning for 40 young people from the mentioned regions, providing them with the\nopportunity to start and develop their own businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event\nfeatured speeches of the heads of Jinishian Memorial Foundation, HSBC Bank\nArmenia CJSC, Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises and key partners of the\nprogram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe at HSBC\nrealize that the economic development of the country is not possible without\nregional development. Within the framework of the program, 100 young people\nliving in the regions will get an opportunity to receive IT related knowledge\nand develop their entrepreneurial skills, which they can further use in their\nnative communities. This is an important step towards decreasing unemployment\nrate in the target regions and promoting long-term regional economic\ndevelopment\u201d, said Irina Seylanyan, CEO of HSBC Bank Armenia CJSC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Armen Hakobyan,\nthe executive director of Jinishian Memorial Foundation, thanked HSBC Group for\nproductive cooperation and for entrusting the implementation of the program to\nthe Foundation. He stressed that the program will create a unique opportunity\nfor the residents of Armenian regions to find high paying jobs in IT and will\noffer various assistance tools enabling young people to call their business\nprojects to life.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
