YEREVAN, September 2. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Some 0.7% of Internet users in Armenia were attacked by financial computer malware in April-June 2021, as many were attacked in Azerbaijan and 0.4% in Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second quarter of 2020, 1.3% of users in Armenia were attacked by financial computer malware designed to steal money through online access to bank accounts. In Georgia and Azerbaijan this figure was 0.9%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The largest number of users whose computers encountered financial malware attacks during April-June 2021 was in Turkmenistan – 5.8%, followed by Tajikistan (5.0%) and Afghanistan (4.2%), according to Jaspers Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cybercriminals are paving the way for bank details and user money through the creation of fake web pages of banks, online stores and payment systems, as well as through spam, phishing and key loggers. Their main purpose is to push users to download banking Trojans to home and corporate computers that send information about bank cards or payment details to cybercriminals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to experts, the best protection against Trojans is to never open e-mail attachments, social networks or instant messengers sent by strangers, and do not launch programs if the user is not 100% sure of the source of the files.
One should always update their software: hackers exploit known vulnerabilities in the software protection system and use them to send Trojans to user\u2019s computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be completely safe, one should install antivirus software or a Trojan removal utility. This software, when the conditions for regular updates are met, scans the system for Trojans and automatically checks any program or executable file. -0-<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
