{"id":25019,"date":"2011-07-07T11:06:11","date_gmt":"2011-07-07T11:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2011\/07\/07\/233348\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T12:52:06","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T12:52:06","slug":"world-bank-official-says-armenian-gdp-may-grow-this-year-by-4-5-percent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2011\/07\/07\/25019\/","title":{"rendered":"World Bank official says Armenian GDP may grow this year by 4-5 percent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, July 7. \/ ARKA \/.<\/strong> A senior World Bank representative said today Armenian economy may expand this year as much as 4%-5% if not affected by an external turmoil.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a news conference head of World Bank Yerevan Office, Jean-Michel Happi, recalled that Armenia registered a 2.6% GDP growth last year, which he said gives hopes that the figure may rise this year as well.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We expect economic growth in Armenia to continue and expand by yearend as much as 4%-.5% in the absence of external economic shocks,\u2019 Mr. Happi said.<\/p>\n<p>Armenia&#8217;s GDP in 2010 increased by 2.6% compared with 2009, up from the projected 1.2% amounting to 3.509.6 trillion drams. Per capita GDP at the end of 2010 was 1,077,961 drams or $2,885\/2,173 euros. The state budget projects a 4.6% economic growth for this year.
