{"id":25072,"date":"2011-07-08T13:41:08","date_gmt":"2011-07-08T13:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2011\/07\/08\/233354\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T12:52:07","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T12:52:07","slug":"forecast-armenias-inflation-to-stand-at-7-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2011\/07\/08\/25072\/","title":{"rendered":"Forecast: Armenia\u2019s inflation to stand at 7% this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, July 8. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Armenia\u2019s inflation is believed to stand at 7% this year, Ameriabank\u2019s development director, Tigran Jrbashyan said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe project a single-digit inflation rate,\u201d he said. \u201cAccording to our forecast, inflation won\u2019t come close to 10%, but won\u2019t subside below 5%.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that inflation in Armenia was mainly driven up by increase in world prices for oil products and foods, but signs of stabilization are being seen now. Therefore, imports pose no threat now.<\/p>\n<p>Jrbashyan pointed out 30-percent growth in money transfers to Armenia in the first half of this year. This growth lessens pressure on the forex market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe central bank has already mitigated its monetary policy and sees no necessity to take crucial steps,\u201d he said. \u201cThat is why the regulator was keeping the benchmark refinancing rate unchanged throughout the recent two months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to official statistical reports, year-on-year inflation in Armenia reached 8.5% in June 2011.
