YEREVAN, 25 June. \/ARKA\/<\/strong>. Acba Federation and the Armenian branch of the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU) are launching the 2nd grant competition “Become a Green Guest House” as part of the “Rural Tourism Development” programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the grant competition is to help those hotels and guesthouses operating in rural areas that wish to introduce systems of the efficient use of natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition is open to the following hotels and guesthouses that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– want to introduce a system of efficient use of natural resources,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– are located in a rural area,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– are owned and operated by local people,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– have at least 5 rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The maximum grant amount is AMD 1,500,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winners undertake to use the grant for activities that reduce the negative impact on the environment, such as waste reduction, recycling of used items\/resources, use of renewable energy sources, water conservation, support for sustainable agriculture, etc. until 31 December of the current year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Successful applicants must make a personal contribution equal to the grant awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deadline to apply for the grant competition is 1 August 2024. The results of the competition will be announced on 1 September this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those hotels and guesthouses that have already installed natural resource saving systems can participate in the first competition  announced under the programme (at the following link https:\/\/acba-federation.am\/hy\/acba-federation-nabu-2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
