YEREVAN, July 12. \/ARKA\/. Securities transactions effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia Stock Exchange have grown 9.7% from AMD 154.8 million in May to AMD 169.8 million in June.<\/p>\n
Deals on corporate bonds totaled over AMD 48.7 million in June \u2013 28.7% of the total amount, transactions on government bonds amounted to AMD 24 million and made up 14.1% of the total sum, and transactions on stakes amounted to AMD 97.1 million (57.2%).<\/p>\n
ARKA News Agency\u2019s analysis based on NASDAQ OMX Armenia Stock Exchange\u2019s reports shows that June\u2019s transactions were effected on government bonds and four private companies\u2019 corporate bonds.<\/p>\n
Converse Bank was the leader on corporate bonds deals in June. It effected transactions worth more than AMD 33.9 million – 69.7% of the total amount of deals effected at the stock exchange in June.<\/p>\n
NASDAQ OMX Armenia (former Armenian Stock Exchange, Armex), was established in 2001 as a voluntary merger of 21 broker (dealer) companies.<\/p>\n
In January 2008, Nordic exchange operator OMX Group acquired 100% of shares of the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) and the Central Depository of Armenia (CDA). After NASDAQ and OMX merged in March 2008, Armex and CDA have become fully owned by the NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc.<\/p>\n
