YEREVAN, October 16. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> According to the Armenian government’s estimates, approximately 30% of medical services will be included in the insurance package under the mandatory health insurance system, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at a briefing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that these 30% of medical services will cover approximately 30 of the most common diseases in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about the timeframe, Pashinyan recalled that the system’s implementation will begin in 2026, and the necessary funds have already been allocated in the state budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As for the challenges, we shouldn’t expect a perfect system by January 1, 2026. With the implementation of any system or reform, problems arise. It can’t be any other way,” Pashinyan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He recalled that, starting in 2026, health insurance for individuals over 65 will be fully funded by the state. Furthermore, a portion of the funds currently paid by citizens to the Military Insurance Fund will be used to pay for health insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Social loans for medical care will also be provided, which citizens can use for payments. However, this will not cover all expenses. An additional payment of 2,3,4,5, or even more, depending on salary, will be required,” Father noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan announced that 1.6 million Armenian residents will be included in the first stage of the transition to a universal health insurance system (2026-2028).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She named the categories of citizens who will be included in the system starting in 2026. These include individuals under 18 and over 65, as well as people with disabilities and those receiving social benefits. For them, the state will cover 100% of the costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This system will also include 190,000 employed individuals with a monthly income of over 200,000 drams. The cost of the health insurance package will be 129,600 drams per year, paid monthly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
