YEREVAN, November 19. \/ARKA\/. \/. For the third consecutive time, the French cultural event \u2013 FrancoFest \u2013 is set to take place in Yerevan, sponsored by Acba Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, the French book and art festival will present four new books in Armenian translation, according to the bank’s press service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The festival’s main guest is the contemporary French writer and philosopher Pascal Bruckner, who has come to Armenia to participate in the presentation of the Armenian edition of his book “My Little Husband” (Mon petit mari).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Our main goal is to translate and present contemporary French-language literature in Armenia, attracting French-speaking students, teachers, and the general public. Newmag publishing house has been collaborating with Acba Bank since the very beginning of its publishing program. We are pleased that the bank has been the main partner of FrancoFest for the third year in a row. We appreciate Acba\u2019s commitment to supporting the creation of contemporary, high-quality French-language content,\u201d noted Artak Aleksanyan, head of Newmag publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis festival, which presents French literature, opens new opportunities for French writers. This is my first book in Armenia, and I\u2019m anxiously awaiting its reception. Armenian-French ties go back more than a century. Literature is part of this cooperation,\u201d noted writer and philosopher Pascal Bruckner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, for the first time, Armenia, along with 49 other countries, submitted its candidate for the Prix Goncourt. The Armenian winner of the Prix Goncourt, as chosen by the national jury, was Ga\u00ebl Faye\u2019s novel \u201cJacaranda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
