The Central Bank of Armenia&#8217;s Board has opted to keep the refinancing rate steady, primarily because of the balance between supply and demand, &nbsp;stated &nbsp;the head of the bank, Martin Galstyan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On February 3, the refinancing rate was held at 6.5%. The Lombard repo rate and the cash attraction rate remained unchanged at 8.00% and 5.00% respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In our economy, there is no significant gap, or it is minimal \u2013 the difference between potential GDP and its actual growth is very slight,&#8221; Galstyan mentioned during a press conference on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, he noted that the refinancing rate of the Central Bank of Armenia is nearly at the neutral rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Thus, after evaluating scenarios A and B, the Central Bank&#8217;s Board concluded that it is wiser to keep the rate unchanged,&#8221; the head of the regulator remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since June 2023, the Central Bank of Armenia has been consistently reducing the refinancing rate, lowering it from 10.75% to 6.75% in February 2025.
