YEREVAN, September 9. \/ARKA\/. Armenian banks will take part in the banking investment forum to be held in Los Angeles on September 25, Ashot Osipyan, chairman of the Union of Armenian Banks, said Friday at a news conference.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs many as 15 Armenian banks have already applied for participation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
As initiator this event, the union aims at presenting Armenia\u2019s economic, particularly banking capacity to foreign investors and Armenians living abroad.<\/p>\n
Osipyan said that many clients from Armenian communities overseas are present in Armenia\u2019s banking system.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur goal is to make our banking system closer to investors,\u201d he said adding that American banks would attend the forum as well.<\/p>\n
Osipyan said that European and Russian banks have expressed interest in this forum.<\/p>\n
