{"id":279122,"date":"2026-09-08T16:17:57","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T12:17:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/?p=279122"},"modified":"2026-09-08T16:17:59","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T12:17:59","slug":"armenia-calls-on-visa-to-reduce-fees-for-cashless-payments-through-pos-terminals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2026\/09\/08\/279122\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenia calls on Visa to reduce fees for cashless payments through POS terminals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>YEREVAN, September 8. \/AR\u041a\u0410\/.<\/strong> RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan called on the international payment system Visa to discuss the possibility of reducing fees charged for cashless payments through POS terminals in Armenia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grigoryan made this proposal at a meeting with a Visa delegation led by Tariq Mahmud, the company&#8217;s regional head for Central Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the RA government press service reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking about the reduction in cash turnover, Grigoryan emphasized the importance of reducing fees charged for cashless payments through POS terminals and urged discussions with partner banks on possible reduction scenarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting also discussed programs implemented by Visa in Armenia and potential new areas of cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mahmud praised the state of Armenia&#8217;s banking system, as well as the government&#8217;s policy aimed at stimulating cashless transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About Visa<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visa Inc. is an international digital payments company. Its global VisaNet technology network facilitates electronic payments between consumers, businesses, financial institutions, and government agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Armenia, Visa partners with banks to develop digital and cashless payments.
