{"id":281401,"date":"2026-10-18T00:40:06","date_gmt":"2026-10-17T20:40:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/?p=281401"},"modified":"2026-10-18T00:40:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-17T20:40:08","slug":"armenia-to-subsidize-interest-rates-on-loans-and-leases-for-energy-storage-systems-by-up-to-10-percentage-points","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2026\/10\/18\/281401\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenia to subsidize interest rates on loans and leases for energy storage systems \u2014 by up to 10 percentage points"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>YEREVAN, October 17. \/ARKA\/. <\/strong>Armenia is introducing a state subsidy for interest rates on loans and leases used to purchase electrical energy storage systems, announced Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a video posted on social media, the Minister noted that the level of support will range from 6 to 10 percentage points, depending on the financial instrument and the currency of the financing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new mechanism is established by Armenian Government Decree No. 1502-L, dated October 15, 2026, which introduces amendments to the state program for economic modernization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Subsidy Terms<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the approved terms, the following interest rate subsidies apply to the purchase of electrical energy storage systems and their components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Leases in Armenian drams: 10 percentage points.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leases in foreign currency: 8 percentage points.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loans in Armenian drams: 8 percentage points.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loans in foreign currency: 6 percentage points.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The maximum duration for the interest rate subsidy is 84 months, or seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State support applies to the acquisition of energy storage systems and their components, provided they are used exclusively for storing electricity generated by solar power plants or solar panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The specified subsidy levels represent a reduction in the interest rate\u2014covered by the state\u2014by the corresponding number of percentage points; they do not indicate the final cost of financing for the borrower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decree enters into force on October 25, 2026.
