YEREVAN, December 12. \/ARKA\/. <\/strong>ArCa Armenian payment system issued 35,799 plastic cards in November 2011 \u2013 78.1% year-on-year growth, the company\u2019s press office reported on Monday.<\/p>\n

Of them, 15,567 were ARCa cards (134.7% year-on-year increase), 9,167 Visa cards (13.7% increase) and 11,065 MasterCard cards (104.8% growth) in November 2011.<\/p>\n

The number of active cards for transactions exceeded 746,000 in November \u2013 34.6% year-on-year growth.<\/p>\n

Transactions were effected on 433,424 cards in November 2011 against 364,135 in November 2010.<\/p>\n

Of them, 282,080 are ArCa cards (29.7% growth), 124,303 Visa cards (34.6%) and 96,104 MasterCard cards (76.9%).<\/p>\n

The cards on which transactions were effected made up 67% of the total number of active cards of all types in November 2011.<\/p>\n

Armenian Card CJSC was established on March 16, 2000 as national system of payments on plastic cards.<\/p>\n

Today 19 of Armenia\u2019s 21 commercial banks participate in ArCa payment system.<\/p>\n

There are various ArCa-based products \u2013 ArCa Debit, ArCa Classic, ArCa Gold, ArCa Business, ArCa Affinity, ArCa Co-branded, ArCa Platinum as well as ArCa pension cards.<\/p>\n
