According to an ARKA analysis, based on NASDAQ OMX\u00a0Armenia reports,\u00a0the figure\u00a0fell by\u00a025.3%\u00a0or $20.9 million as compared with\u00a0December 2011.\u00a0The total\u00a0number of transactions\u00a0in January declined by 24.3% to\u00a0406.<\/p>\n<p>The largest amount of\u00a0transactions at NASDAQ OMX Armenia\u00a0was recorded\u00a0on January 10 in\u00a0the amount of about\u00a0$9.3 million\u00a0and the smallest on January 9, in the amount of\u00a0$100 thousand. During the reporting\u00a0period no transactions in euro\u00a0were effected. The average weighted exchange rate of USD at NASDAQ OMX in January was 388.09 drams.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2008, Nordic exchange operator OMX Group acquired 100% of shares of the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) and the Central Depository of Armenia (CDA). After the combination of NASDAQ and OMX in February 2008, Armex and CDA have become fully owned by the NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. On January 27, 2009, \u201cArmenian Stock Exchange\u201d ojsc was officially renamed as \u201cNASDAQ OMX Armenia\u201d ojsc.
