YEREVAN, March 23. \/ARKA\/. Insurance companies of Armenia in January-February paid 5 955 compensations for mandatory car insurance\u00a0 in the total amount of about 1 278.3 million drams, says the site of\u00a0 Motor Insurers\u2019 Bureau of Armenia.
\nAccording to the press-release, in Armenia as of February 29 over 311.2 thousand vehicles were insured, the number of applications for compensations was about 6.8 thousand, and applications has not been satisfied in 112 cases.
\nAt present, compensations in the total amount of 109.7 million drams are in the process of payment.
\nThe size of insurance premiums in January was about 7.3 billion drams.
\nToday eight companies operate in the insurance market of Armenia.
\nThe institute of mandatory insurance of liability operates in Armenia since January 1, 2011.
