The volume of mortgage loans provided by Armenia-based 21 commercial banks totaled more than 110.2 billion drams at the end of February, having increased by 0.5% from January, the Central Bank of Armenia said in a statement posted on its official website. It said  mortgage loans provided in Armenian national currency decreased by 0.1% from January to 60.1 billion drams, while loans in foreign currency grew by 1.3% to 50.1 billion drams.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, mortgage loans accounted for 8.3% in the total outstanding loan portfolio of commercial banks, which at the end of February 2012 totaled about 1.3 trillion drams, a 3.2% increase from January.
