YEREVAN, Apil 17. \/ARKA\/. Areximbank-Gazprombank Group CJSC expects to increase the number of ATMs to 83, and POS- terminals \u2013 to 300, the bank\u2019s press service reported ARKA on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Their number will rise by 25 and 100 respectively, the press release says.<\/p>\n
Areximbank-Gazprombank Group Deputy General Director Ruben Khachatryan said decision to increase the number of ATMs and POS- terminals comes from the bank\u2019s intention to develop credit card business in the country and apply to new services in 2012.<\/p>\n
He also expressed confidence that non-cash transaction service will develop significantly in the nearest future.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow plastic card business in Armenia is already developing dynamically due to the competition between the banks. This is justified by the fact of sharp increase in cards and card issuance volumes, transactions amounts, and new banking card services offered by the banks recently,\u201d he added.
\nKhachatryan also referred to the experts confirming their forecasts that in 2012 the tendency towards reducing the fees for card issuance and debit cards services will continue.<\/p>\n
Areximbank-Gazprombank Group CJSC (former Areximbank, renamed on June 12, 2009) was established in August 1998 for supporting entrepreneurship and serving financial flows between Russia and Armenia. Russia\u2019s Gazprombank has been the sole owner of the bank since 2007.
