The volume of deposits to  Armenian commercial banks increased by 2.2% to 1 056 billion drams in May from April of this year, according to the data published on Armenian Central Bank\u2019s official website.<br \/>\nDeposits in drams rose by 0.6% to nearly 313.9 billion drams within the reported period, according to the source.<\/p>\n<p>Deposits in foreign currency advanced by 5.7% to about   518.3 billion drams as of late May.<br \/>\nAt the same time residents\u2019 deposits make up 78.8% of the total deposits in drams ( over 832.1 billion drams), up by 1.2 p.p. from April.<br \/>\nAs of May 31 of 2012 there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia.
