{"id":38911,"date":"2012-07-09T14:34:21","date_gmt":"2012-07-09T14:34:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2012\/07\/09\/235951\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T12:58:25","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T12:58:25","slug":"armenian-currency-will-begin-to-strengthen-in-mid-july-expert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2012\/07\/09\/38911\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenian currency will begin to strengthen in mid July: Expert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, July 9. \/ARKA\/. <\/strong>Tatul Manaserian, head of Alternative think-tank, said today Armenia\u2019s national currency, the dram that has depreciated heavily against the USD over the last couple of months will begin consolidating from the second half of July.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the strengthening trend will be backed by usual economic developments in summer months, associated particularly with seasonal agricultural work and inflow of foreign tourists.<\/p>\n<p>According to Manaserian, despite global economic troubles, external factors that cause devaluation of the dram will not have a decisive influence on the currency\u2019s exchange rate, unless there is sudden turmoil in foreign markets.<\/p>\n<p>Manaserian also noted that this time the devaluation of the dram did not entail a rise in consumer prices. Quite the contrary, he said, prices of some 500 products and services declined.
