Armenia posted 1.5% deflation in January-September 2012 compared to the analogical period last year, versus an average 4% inflation registered throughout the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), according to the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS.<\/p>\n<p>Within the mentioned period, the deflation was also reported in Azerbaijan and Ukraine at 2.7% and 0.3 % respectively.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, consumer prices rose 0.8% in Armenia in September from August (average 0.5% throughout the CIS). The other CIS members reported inflation in January-September 2012 compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the source.<\/p>\n<p>Within the reported period, the highest inflation rates were posted in the following states: Belarus- 16.1%, Russia- 5.2% and Tajikistan- 5.6%, Kazakhstan-3.9%,\u00a0 Kyrgyzstan- 3.1% and Moldova- 2.4%.
