{"id":44987,"date":"2012-12-07T12:25:44","date_gmt":"2012-12-07T12:25:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2012\/12\/07\/237094\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:01:21","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:01:21","slug":"moneyval-reports-significant-progress-in-armenias-struggling-against-mltf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2012\/12\/07\/44987\/","title":{"rendered":"MONEYVAL reports significant progress in Armenia\u2019s struggling against ML\/TF"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, December 7. \/ARKA\/. <\/strong>MONEYVAL committee of experts approved the third stage for evaluating the   progress of struggling against money laundering and terrorism financing (ML\/TF) in Armenia.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) \u2013 a FATF-style regional body established in 1997.<\/p>\n<p>The report demonstrates significant advance in combating ML\/TF in the republic, Armenia\u2019s Central Bank informs on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The progress is particularly reported in the following directions: -if the legislative acts regulating the sphere are adopted, the existing flaws in ML\/TF regulation will be removed; this will apply to clients controlling measures. Moreover, ML\/TF notion will be fully defined in accordance with the international standards<\/p>\n<p>-the decision by the Court of Cassation authorizes the right to  pass a verdict over \u201cmoney laundering\u201d regardless of a lower court decision.<\/p>\n<p>-the republic is efficiently systematizing in the frames of the law \u201cOn struggling against ML\/TF\u201d.<br \/>\nThe progress is also seen in money laundering investigation cases.<\/p>\n<p>The adoption of the 2013-2015 national strategy for combating against ML\/TF, as well as training courses for law enforcement bodies and financial intelligence representatives  are also encouraging, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>According to MONEYVAL requirements, Armenia will present another report in two years. Armenia has been a MONEYVAL member since 2006.
