The total liabilities of 21 Armenia-based banks\u00a0 in 2012 surged by\u00a0 19.7%\u00a0 t0\u00a0 2. 002.6 trillion\u00a0 drams, according to ARKA news agency\u2019s financial and economic report called &#8220;Banks of Armenia&#8221; (Performance of Banks of Armenia in\u00a0 Quarter 4,\u00a0 2012).<\/p>\n<p>According to it, the leading bank by size of liabilities was Ameriabank. Its liabilities rose last year\u00a0 by 25.26 percent to 208.1 billion drams. It was followed by ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK with 199.2 billion drams liabilities, which grew from 2011 by 15.23 percent.<\/p>\n<p>VTB Bank (Armenia)\u00a0 was third with 181.4 billion drams worth liabilities (a 21% rise form the previous year), HSBC Bank Armenia &#8211; 175.9 billion drams (an 18.3% growth from 2011) and\u00a0 Ardshininvestbank -168 billion drams (30.4% increase).
