Some 203 of these applications were declined, and payment of compensations totaling AMD 150.5 million is under way now (9.4% growth).<\/p>\n<p>Insurance premiums totaled about AMD 8.9 billion in late May after growing 8.5% over the month.<br \/>\nFive insurance companies function in Armenia now.<\/p>\n<p>The obligatory car insurance was instituted in Armenia on January 1, 2011. The country\u2019s insurance market is under the central bank\u2019s control.
