{"id":57881,"date":"2013-07-13T09:28:36","date_gmt":"2013-07-13T09:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2013\/07\/13\/238895\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:05:52","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:05:52","slug":"remittances-to-armenia-in-may-upped-6-5-to-140-5-mln","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2013\/07\/13\/57881\/","title":{"rendered":"Remittances to Armenia in May upped 6.5% to $140.5 mln"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, July 13.\/ARKA\/.<\/strong> The amount of private remittances sent to Armenia in May 2013 via banks for non-commercial purposes increased by 6.5 percent from 2012 May\u00a0 to $140.49 million, the Central Bank said in a statement posted on its official website.<\/p>\n<p>The amount of remittances in May is said to be 6.9 % higher from April.<\/p>\n<p>In the same time span the amount of money transfers made from Armenia to other countries hit $25.2 million in May 2013 versus $25.6 million\u00a0 from a year earlier. The net amount of remittances to Armenia in May\u00a0 this year stood at\u00a0 nearly $115.27 million against about $106.1 million.<\/p>\n<p>As usual, the largest portion of remittances from abroad came from Russia \u2013 nearly 84.5%. Total of about $118.7 million was transferred from Russia to Armenia in May 2013 versus 110.3 million, while\u00a0 $14.7\u00a0 million was transferred from Armenia to Russia (versus $15.2 million).<\/p>\n<p>According to Central Bank data, a total of $577.39 million was remitted to Armenia in the first five months of this year, while the amount of remittances from Armenia to other countries stood at $124.5\u00a0 million (13.7% growth).
