{"id":70952,"date":"2014-02-11T10:53:42","date_gmt":"2014-02-11T10:53:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2014\/02\/11\/240225\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:09:40","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:09:40","slug":"ifc-to-expand-services-in-armenia-for-improving-investment-climate-liubek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2014\/02\/11\/70952\/","title":{"rendered":"IFC to expand services in Armenia for improving investment climate \u2013 Liubek"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, February 11. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> The IFC is planning to expand its consulting services in Armenia to improve investment climate while focusing on agro-industry, financial sector and renewed energy.<\/p>\n<p>The IFC will also make efforts to increase its portfolio in non-financial sector while making investments in competitive segments like mining and agribusiness, IFC regional manager for the South Caucasus Thomas Liubeck told ARKA.<\/p>\n<p>The Corporation makes investments and offers consulting in sectors, which are drivers of economic growth and new jobs, Lubeck said.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1995 the IFC has invested a total of about $271 million under 44 projects in a number of fields, including finance markets and mining. The Corporation has been also providing consulting on sustainable energy, business regulations and food safety.<\/p>\n<p>The IFC intends to continue its active investment policy in Armenia, the regional manager said.<br \/>\nLubeck noted IFC\u2019s current portfolio is $146.5 million in Armenia.
