{"id":7426,"date":"2010-02-10T09:30:39","date_gmt":"2010-02-10T09:30:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2010\/02\/10\/230591\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T12:46:14","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T12:46:14","slug":"representative-of-kfw-bank-questions-governments-gdp-growth-projection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2010\/02\/10\/7426\/","title":{"rendered":"No economic growth in 2010: expert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, February 10. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Karapet Gevorkian, a candidate of economy, a representative of German KfW Bank in Armenia,\u00a0 questioned today the government\u2019s projection of a 1.2% GDP growth this year.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with ARKA news agency he said the global economic and financial crisis was not over yet and its impact will be felt throughout 2010 and 2011.<\/p>\n<p>In his words, it will take Armenia from 3 to 4 years to get back to its economic growth indicators of 2007-2008. He said some stability would be observed this year and only in 2011 the economy will begin to grow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do not think the country may\u00a0 achieve a positive growth this year.\u00a0\u00a0 It may be a zero growth or even a little below zero,\u2019 he said, adding that the government should direct its efforts first of all at diversification of the economy and reducing its\u00a0 dependence on construction and mining sectors.
