This action concludes the review for downgrade that Moody&#8217;s initiated on 28 March 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The negative outlook was triggered by the following factors:<br \/>\n1.) The rise in Russia&#8217;s susceptibility to geo-political event risk<br \/>\n2.) A deterioration of Russia&#8217;s medium-term economic growth outlook<\/p>\n<p>The rating was confirmed against the background of Russia&#8217;s strong fiscal and external accounts, which Moody&#8217;s does not expect to be materially affected by the current geo-political tensions related to the Ukraine and the lower GDP growth trajectory projected in the coming years.<br \/>\nRussia&#8217;s Prime-2 short-term debt rating was affirmed. \u20130&#8211;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Moody&#8217;s Investors Service has today assigned a negative outlook to Russia&#8217;s Baa1 government bond rating and confirmed the rating.
