{"id":78788,"date":"2014-08-22T15:48:21","date_gmt":"2014-08-22T15:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2014\/08\/22\/241323\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:13:03","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:13:03","slug":"armenia-to-earmark-amd-17-to-20-million-for-modernization-of-high-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2014\/08\/22\/78788\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenia to earmark AMD 17 to 20 million for modernization of high schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, August 22. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Armenia\u2019s government has approved the loan agreements signed with the International Development Association and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for modernization of the education system.<\/p>\n<p>On May 23, Armenian signed two agreements of the total cost of $51.2 million with the World Bank to implement educational and social projects.<\/p>\n<p>Under the education improvement program, Armenia will receive $30 million as a loan, of which $15 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development the second half equivalent to SDR 9.8 million from International Development Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Armenian Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan said the two credit projects are being implemented as part of the government\u2019s 2014-2019 program aimed at upgrading the education provided by elementary and high schools as well as universities.<\/p>\n<p>Ashotyan said that special attention will be paid to modernization of high schools in provinces.<br \/>\nHe said 17 to 20 million drams are planned to be earmarked for repair of high schools.<\/p>\n<p>The Armenian government will provide 20% of the project\u2019s cost.
