{"id":83878,"date":"2015-01-26T14:57:46","date_gmt":"2015-01-26T14:57:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2015\/01\/26\/242260\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:15:59","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:15:59","slug":"armenias-financial-ombudsman-office-receives-3244-finance-related-complaints-in-2014-62-more-than-in-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2015\/01\/26\/83878\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenia\u2019s financial ombudsman office receives 3,244 finance-related complaints in 2014 &#8211; 62% more than in 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, January 26. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Armenia\u2019s financial ombudsman office received 3,244 finance-related complaints in 2014 &#8211; 62% more than it received in 2013, the office\u2019s press service reports.<\/p>\n<p>The number of complaints accepted for consideration rose 56% to 1,227.<\/p>\n<p>According to the press release, this sharp increase came from effective work of the financial ombudsman office\u2019s consistent efforts to enhance public awareness.<\/p>\n<p>As a whole, the office received 3,907 complaints, of which only 3,244 related to financial problems.<\/p>\n<p>The financial ombudsman office says 77.04% of complaints were decided in favor of clients (consideration of 208 cases was under way as of January 22, 2015).<\/p>\n<p>According to the press release, 61.1% of disputes with positive outcomes were settled amicably.<br \/>\n\u201cAppropriate consultation has been provided to each client, all clients received explanation of their rights and duties, officers have also helped them in filling application forms,\u201d the press office says.<\/p>\n<p>Some 1,021 complaints were against insurance companies, of which 14 on mandatory car insurance, 230 complaints against banks, five against credit organizations, three against pawn houses and four against organizations providing money transfer services.<\/p>\n<p>The first financial ombudsman office in the Commonwealth of Independent States was established in Armenia and started functioning on January 24, 2008.
