{"id":90378,"date":"2015-08-07T15:37:21","date_gmt":"2015-08-07T15:37:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2015\/08\/07\/243330\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:19:24","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:19:24","slug":"oseevskiy-russias-exports-today-diversified-enough-and-weak-ruble-gives-additional-opportunities-to-exporters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2015\/08\/07\/90378\/","title":{"rendered":"Oseevskiy: Russia&#8217;s exports today diversified enough and weak ruble gives additional opportunities to exporters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, August 7. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> Mikhail Oseevskiy, VTB Bank deputy president and chairman of the bank\u2019s board, thinks that Russia&#8217;s exports today are diversified enough and a weak ruble gives additional opportunities to exporters.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking Friday at a news conference in Yerevan, he said the country&#8217;s economy heavily depends on oil prices, since Russian oil export volumes are four time larger than natural gas export volumes, but despite that Russia&#8217;s export is diversified enough.<\/p>\n<p>In his words, Russia\u2019s sales totaled $18 billion in 2014. \u201cWe remain big players at metal and coal markets, and our IT exports are growing as well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Oseevskiy said that a tough transition to market regulation of the ruble\u2019s exchange rate was a very reasonable step in terms of global economy and budget system.<\/p>\n<p>He said that today people are cutting their expenses by shifting to cheaper foods and nonfoods. \u201cThis is quite a big challenge, but I think that in term of psychology this transformation is running easier than two previous in 1998 and 2008,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The mid-scale business segment, like many other segments, have their sales sharply fallen. For example, car dealers\u2019 earnings shrank 50%, and trade outlets selling clothes and jewelry faced decline in sales as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe weak ruble gives additional opportunities to exporters,\u201d Oseevskiy said. \u201cToday profitability of export-oriented enterprises is high.
