{"id":92735,"date":"2015-11-12T12:49:33","date_gmt":"2015-11-12T12:49:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/2015\/11\/12\/243803\/"},"modified":"2024-12-15T13:20:55","modified_gmt":"2024-12-15T13:20:55","slug":"armenian-regulator-hobbling-economic-growth-by-tightening-its-monetary-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armbanks.am\/en\/2015\/11\/12\/92735\/","title":{"rendered":"Armenian regulator hobbling economic growth by tightening its monetary policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>YEREVAN, November 12. \/ARKA\/.<\/strong> The restrictive policy of the Central Bank of Armenia should be seriously discussed by experts and developers of economic programs, Manuk Yerghnyan, the head of the Economy and Values Armenian Research Center said in an exclusive interview with ARKA News Agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe central bank pursues a policy of restriction and high prices, and this may create big risks soon for economic growth and companies,\u201d he said. \u201cBut it is clear that a high-risk environment is formed and the regulator is cautious in taking steps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yerghnyan finds it difficult to say whether the central bank&#8217;s policy is correct and effective in the current circumstances or not.<\/p>\n<p>According to the central bank&#8217;s report, a 0.5% deflation was recorded in Armenia in October 2015 against a1% inflation in October 2014.
